Travel Registration

2026/27 Travel Soccer

The travel program is designed for players Under 9 (U9) and older who excel at soccer and want to participate at a higher level than offered by the intramural program. This program challenges players to realize their highest potential through more intensive coaching while giving them the chance to develop long-lasting bonds with their teammates and coaches. Travel soccer offers more playing time with players of equal talent. Player development, team tactics and winning are stressed more in the travel program.

It is strongly recommended that athletes play at the age-appropriate level.
Teams usually practice two nights per week.
Games are usually played on the weekends and most games are within a thirty-mile radius.
In season games begin after Labor Day and end before Thanksgiving.
Players are required to purchase the Club-designated travel uniform.
Players attend Fall season tournaments and pay the associated registration fees of tournaments selected by the coach and team.
It is recommended that travel players attend camps and participate in off season activities to further improve their skills. Players are strongly encouraged to practice at home to refine fundamentals. This level of commitment ensures faster paced player development.

The girls compete in the Central League against teams in Delaware, Chester and Montgomery counties, usually on Sunday afternoons.

The boys compete in the Central League and play in the tri-county area, as well, mostly on Saturdays.

Individual team costs are determined by the coaches, team managers and families involved. The various costs represent the agreed upon expected expenses of the 2025-26 season. The difference in costs between each team are due to roster size and each team's individualized plan for the upcoming season. The Club has a payment plan option to spread out the cost over the season.

Registration for the travel team tryouts is free and merely constitutes an interest on the part of the player. After the completion of tryouts players will be contacted and informed of their status and those offered a roster spot can accept or decline at that time. Tryouts will run from Monday, April 13, through Friday, April 24. Teams will have two tryout sessions over that two week period. Players must attend at least one tryout to be considered but it is recommended that they attend both. The schedule is posted to the Travel page of the Ridley United website.
